The original Medicare plan pays for many health care services and supplies, but it doesn't pay all of your health care costs. Medicare Part C or Medicare Advantage Plans are becoming more popular as they offer enhanced benefits over Medicare Part A and B. You continue to pay for Medicare Part B as you normally would yet there is a little or no extra monthly premium for the Medicare Advantage Plan.

Medicare Part D prescription drug plans are available on a stand-alone basis or in combination with a Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Supplement plan.
