Dental Insurance

At Stellar Insurance Services, Inc., we assess your need for dental insurance before making a recommendation. If your teeth are very healthy and all you do is a teeth cleaning twice a year, you may not need the same type of policy as someone with special needs such as dentures, root canals, etc.

There are good options for both group and individual dental plans. We represent fine companies such as AFLAC, MetLife Dental, Dental Select, Delta Dental and others. Group health plans provided by companies such as Blue Cross and SelectHealth (IHC) will have quality dental plans available as part of their employee benefits package.

Individual Plans
There are dental discount plans that offer the lowest monthly premiums for both individuals and families. These plans require that you pay the dentist at the time of service--often with discounts of up to 50% or even higher. There are usually no deductibles or waiting periods to use all of the benefits that these plans have to offer. More traditional dental plans may cover a higher percentage of the cost of dental procedures yet have deductibles and waiting periods before the insurance company will start to pay. Supplemental dental plans are available that will pay in addition to any other dental insurance.

Group Plans
There is a greater variety of companies and plans available to employer-sponsored groups. Deductibles and waiting periods for services may be small or none. Orthodontic benefits are generally richer in a group environment. When given the opportunity to help your business with group health insurance, we would be pleased to assist you with dental quotes from any number of quality carriers.

Vision Coverage

Discounts for eye exams, eyeglasses and contact lenses along with Lasik eye surgery are available on both individual and group plans. Among others, we represent Opticare of Utah, a local company who's Premier Vision Plan offers the following:

• $10 copayment for eye exam (glasses or contacts)
• Most common lenses covered at 100%
• Scratch resistant and UV coatings covered 100%
• Frames up to $100 value covered 100%
• $100 allowance made for conventional and disposable lenses
